Who we are and how to contact us
We are Hammersmith & Fulham Council's parks and leisure service.
H&F is the Controller for the personal data we process. Our Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) registration number is: Z5124889.

What we collect and process
We only use data you’ve given us directly.
Our annual parks satisfaction survey includes questions about the demographics of our residents. These questions are optional and your participation in the survey is voluntary and you are free to decline the optional questions if you wish to.
Your personal information is anonymised before being used to evaluate feedback.
We will collect the following personal data about you when you respond to the survey:
- disability
- gender
- age
- your children's ages
- whether you are an H&F resident
- your postcode (Your postcode will be used to ensure we have a representative response from across the borough)
- your contact email (We ask residents to provide their email address so we can email you the results of the survey to improve engagement)
Other questions include
- do you find parks accessible
- what improvements would you suggest to improve your access
- how often you visit the park
- do you visit the park alone or with others
Why we need it and what we do with it - our purpose and legal basis for processing your data
The parks annual satisfaction survey aims to understand the satisfaction of residents with the parks service, what the issues are and how things can be improved.
Our legal basis for processing your data is that:
- We need to process it to perform a public task which is identifying public satisfaction, issues and accessibility in the public interest in our parks and open spaces. (6(1)(e) of the GDPR). The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 the Equality Act 2010 is what sets out the research we must carry out.
- We need to process it to understand how and why people use our parks and why they don’t. However, you have the right to object to this processing. Please see Your data rights for how to object to this processing.
Some of your data we process contains special category data such as your health or disability.
Our legal basis for processing it is that:
- We have your clear, positive, and freely given explicit consent to process it for improving the accessibility of our parks and open spaces in the public interest. (9(2)(a) of the GDPR).
Who we share it with
We share your data with our partners who we work with to deliver our service. This includes The Parks Forum, a new group who will continue the work of the residents led Parks Commission.
We only process your data in the UK.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for 3 years after we close the satisfaction survey.
When we no longer need your data, we’ll dispose of it securely or, if it’s of historic interest, we’ll transfer it to our local archives service.
